Its Coming To An End

As I have been going through my senior year I have realized that all good things are going to come to an end, and it's not easy to accept.

Throughout high school I have been on a spirit team called, Rawkin Hawks, I have been on it for 4 years and i'm the first one to do that. This is a hard one to bring to reality. I have made some amazing friends over the years and I have grown very close with Mrs. Clifton. She has watched me go through some very hard time over the past for years. She has been a rock for me and i'm so thankful for everything she has done for me.

My high school bowling career is over. That was a hard one to swallow but, I will have college bowling so it just moving onto a bigger and better chapter in my life. Still, its hard walking away from a team you have been with for so long. My senior season didn't go as planned, due to an injure and having to have knee surgery but, I was back in time for all district with my favorite group of girls. I will truly miss the passion and excitement that they give me.

As my senior year continues, my choir career is coming to an end which is always very sad. I have been with Mrs. Allibon for a long time so it is sad but Mrs. Allibon is also retiring. She has been a great teacher the past 4 years and she has helped me through a lot. She has also made all of us into the greatest singers and performers we are today.

Moving on isn't easy. It a very difficult thing to come to reality with, that you don't really have a chose anymore. I'm thankful for the team mates and class mates that I have had over the past 4 years. I'm thankful for my parents, siblings, and my grandparents for pushing me to be the best they knew I could be. They have been a very big support system and moving away is going to be difficult but I know that they will always be there for me and they will always help me with everything. The last group of people I want to thank is my youth group. They have always been there for me and I'm so thankful that my last 3 years in the youth group; I got Justin, Deana, Camden, and Cohen, as the family that came in as Justin became our new youth minister. He has really help me through a lot and I couldn't thank him and his family enough.

As I have 6 weeks left of school, I am finish my book as a youth. Sometime I wish I could go back, fixes somethings, rewrite some things but, I'm thankful for the way things turned out. Now time to start writing the new book in my love. I'm excited for this new book but, I sure will miss the old one.

Ending on a Positive Note!

I will be answering Mrs. Kallas's blog post. Click here to see what I will be talking about.

As my senior year is coming to a close and I have been working very hard to get to this point, everything is starting to feel very real. It is actually starting to get a little scary. As I have been going through this year, I have learned some things but there is still some things I would like to know before heading out to the real world. I will like to learn how to handle my stress better and would like to know how to manage my time better. Throughout high school, these are two things that I have struggled with a lot.

Something I would like to start avoiding is procrastinating. This has really dragged me behind and its not a good skill to have. It make you fall behind and then there for you get super stressed out and that doesn't help either.

8 ways I have been kind or will show kindness

  1. Holding the door for someone.
  2. Helping someone find a classroom.
  3. Picking something up for someone if they dropped it.
  4. Giving someone advice.
  5. Helping a classmate with homework if they don't understand.

Initiative

I will be writing this blog about initiative in the classroom, to see the questions that Mrs. Kallas has asked us to explain. Please click here.

Initiative is showing that you care and lending a helping hand so that someone doesn't have to do some much work on their own.

Ways that you can show initiative in a classroom

  1. You can ask if you can help a certain student.
  2. You can ask if you can help your teacher by going to make copies.
  3. You can ask if you can take them to lunch if the teacher need to leave to go do something else.
  4. You can ask if you can teach the class if your teacher is going to have a sub that day.
  5. You can ask if you can take something to a different teacher.
  6. You can just do something yourself if you can see that the teacher needs it done.
  7. Organize papers for them in alphabetical order so that it is easier for them to put grades in.

Synonymous with initiative
  1. Action.
  2. drive.
  3. leadership.
  4. push.

In Mr. Lee's class there is this little girl. She is so smart, just needs things explained to her more then most students. I get to help her mostly everyday I am there and help her understand what she needs to be doing and then she has it perfect. She is so smart and she is going to do great things.

Teachers have to do a lot of things for their students and they can get very overwhelmed and not be able to get it done or just get to the point that they don't want to do it. They will need help along the way. It is good for teacher to have initiative so that they can push each other to do their best and to push through and it's also nice when someone overs to help because then weigh gets lifted off of you and you are in such a better mindset to get things done.

What Would You Do?

Scenario number 1

I am responding to Mrs. Kallas blog, Please click here to see what I am writing about.

I would have contacted my teacher and let her know what had happened. Even though no harm was done, the students still should have not done that. If they would have gotten into a wreck or if your teacher was trying to get ahold of you because they couldn't find you. I feel that the student did the wrong thing, I would have called my BCTAL teacher and let her know that I missed the bus to my field site and ask her would she would have wanted me to get a ride or if she wanted me to just contact my field site teacher and let her know that I missed the bus and that I would not be there that day.

My Learning DNA

My Multiple Intelligences

I will be responding to Mrs. Kallas blog about our learning DNA. I am very interpersonal. I like being around people, I don't really life when I'm by myself. I like working with people and getting people excited for what is coming up. I think that is why the spirit group at Birdville High School fits my personality so well.  My personality is also very intrapersonal tho, I like being by myself and thinking out loud. When I am home alone, I like being by myself and just taking time to get my brain a break and just rest.

My Learning Preferences (Dunn and Dunn)

I really like having music going while I am working because if I sit in silence, I get tired and I don't want to do my work. Music keeps me motivated to keep going and to get my work done because I'm not paying attention to anything else. The way I am sitting to do my work or the environment I am while I'm doing my work affects me also. I have to sit on the floor or on my bed most of the time while doing my work.

My Learning Styles

I learn better by listening and watching someone do and explain something. I don't really like doing hands on activities because then I feel like I'm not learning as well. Listening to someone talk about it helps me a lot because then I can think through it and put it in my own words and understand it in a way that I know I will be able to complete the task. I also like watching someone do it because then after they do it, I can try to do it myself and if I do it wrong then, they can walk me through it and show me in an easier way.

Cone of Learning

My Gallup Significant Themes

1. Strategic- If I made a decision, I have to think about how it will affect me in the future. I don't want to do something that isn't going to help me grow in the future
2. Includer- I don't like when people are excluded from the group, I like everyone to feel apart of the group and be include in discussions and choices in the group.
3. Deliberative- I don't like everyone knows what is going on in my life if it affects me a lot, I want to keep it to myself. I don't want people to feel bad for me. I want to take care of it myself.
4. Adaptability- I make choice that I think will make my future better.
5. Developer- I think everyone has the opportunity to change and to grow as a person. I always see the best in people.

My Classroom Rules

In this blog, I will be responding to Mrs. Kallas's blog. To see what I will be talk about, please click here.

Last week, we watched a movie called The Ron Clark movie, Mr. Clark takes a difficult group of kids and chances their lives. He has all these crazy rules and at first, the kids thing they are really pointless but, by the end of the movie, they change into this wonderful group of kids because they start following the rules. I think rules are important to follow because you see people or children that don't follow rules and you think how different life could be if you didn't follow rules.

Classrooms can become very out of control when you have a difficult group of kids. Rules help things not be so rough when it comes to controlling the environment of the classroom. When you have rules, the classroom runs better because the children are aware of there being conscious if they don't follow the rules.

When I see classrooms that do not follow rules, children just do what they want because they know they won't get in trouble and I think that is a very bad habit to have when you get older because you have to follow rules for a job or whatever you plan to do with your life so, if you don't have rules that you have to follow when you're younger, when you get older, it will be harder to start following rules because you aren't use to it.

Here below is a screenshot of my future classroom rules.

Ron Clark has an school called "The Ron Clark Academy". It is a non-profit middle school, housed in a renovated red brick warehouse located in southeast Atlanta, Georgia. If you would like to know more or learn more about his school, please click here.
